Who Has Been Working Hard; Who Has Been Slacking?
News August 9th, 2007A little over a month ago I wrote a blog post ranking directories by the number of backlinks that they have. This post is an update. Given the fact that the number of backlinks that Yahoo! reports can vary from hour to hour, I don’t think that a change of less than 5% is very meaningful.
You can note some interesting trends in the number of backlinks that the directories have – who has been working hard and who has been slacking. Let’s look at the 10 biggest gainers:
[no longer exists]
2. AddUrl-Free.com +95.77%
3. GoGuides.org +63.2%
4. Wezp.com +47.02%
5. Haabaa.com +35.5%
6. Fourfind.com +29.77%
7. LinkForever.net +27.64%
8. MingleOn.com +19.88%
9. KwikGoblin.com + 16.87%
10 (tie). Submission4U.com +15.58%
10 (tie). Biz-King.com +15.58%
Congrats for all of your hard work!
Here’s the complete list. The number in brackets afterwards indicated the % increase or decrease from the last list:

[…] Aviva Directory has posted a great article that charts the web directories that have increased the most in promotion over the past month. This is very useful to know as it provides insight into which directories are worthy for submission (the ones that are actually being promoted day-by-day). Special thanks to Jeff for working on preparing and presenting the data. […]

Very nice post Jeff. Do you have a program to track the stats and % change?
Hope to see my site there soon!

This is a great resource Jeff, and I truly appreciate yours and the mrs. efforts in providing us all such a great reference.
The only drawback I tend to see are the splog (spam blog) directories out there that list senseless driveling crap in order to try and gain serps or rank for key terms and thus increasing their backlinks and skewing your list somewhat.
Other than that, keep up the fantastic work you’re doing.

my question is how can one get over 1 million links!.
September 20th, 2007 at 6:17 am
