The Rookie classification, also known as the Rookie leagues, is the entry-level tier for Minor League Baseball (MiLB).

The concept of Rookie leagues was formalized in the 1960s as part of a broader restructuring of the MiLB system. The classification is intended to provide a structured environment for newly drafted players, often fresh from high school or international signings. Although some players might be directly assigned to a Single-A team, the Rookie leagues were designed to give players their first taste of professional baseball and to allow for further assessment of where they might be placed.

Rookie leagues generally have shorter playing seasons, beginning in June and ending in late August or early September, while Single-A leagues start in April.

Rookie leagues are often based at Major League Baseball (MLB) spring training complexes in Arizona and Florida, as well as in the Dominican Republic, while Single-A leagues are spread across various regions in the United States and Canada.

There are 23 stadiums in use by Rookie league baseball teams in the United States and an additional 24 stadiums in the Dominican Republic.

Of the U.S. stadiums, the oldest is Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland, Florida, which is home to the FCL Tigers. Four stadiums were built in the 1960s, one in the 1970s, four in the 1980s, six in the 1990s, three in the 2000s, and five in the 2010s. The Rookie stadium with the largest seating capacity is Sloan Park, where the ACL Cubs play, while the one with the lowest capacity is the Carpenter Complex, where the FCL Phillies play, the difference being 15,000 at Sloan Park and 500 at the Carpenter Complex.

There are ten stadiums in the Arizona Complex League. American Family Fields of Phoenix is home to the ACL Brewers, while Camelback Ranch is shared by the ACL Dodgers and the ACL White Sox, Fitch Park is home to the ACL Athletics, Goodyear Ballpark is shared by the ACL Guardians and the ACL Reds, Peoria Sports Complex is home to the ACL Mariners and the ACL Padres, Salt River Fields at Talking Stick hosts the ACL D-backs and the ACL Rockies, Scottsdale Stadium has the ACL Giants, Sloan Park has the ACL Cubs, Surprise Stadium is shared by the ACL Rangers and the ACL Royals, and Tempe Diablo Stadium is home to the ACL Angels.

The Florida Complex League has thirteen stadiums.
