This portion of our web guide emphasizes shopping resources for sporting equipment, apparel, and other items used in various racquet or paddle games.

For example, tennis enthusiasts will probably buy things like tennis rackets, tennis balls, tennis shoes, and clothing, and they might also be in the market for racket grips and overgrips, tennis bags, tennis racket strings, elbow straps, and knee braces.

Someone interested in playing badminton might shop for a badminton racket, shuttlecocks, shoes, and an outfit appropriate for badminton. Optional items might include a kitbag, badminton socks, a badminton grip, insoles, or orthotics, while those who want to play at home might buy a badminton net and poles.

The game of squash requires a squash racquet, squash balls, squash shoes, goggles, athletic wear, and perhaps an equipment bag and towel.

The equipment necessary for racquetball would be similar; only the racquet and balls would be specific for racquetball.

Since table tennis (ping pong) is a game often played at home, table tennis players might want to buy their own table tennis table, and, of course, there would also be the table tennis racket or paddle, table tennis balls, a net, and maybe a racket case, accessories, and perhaps clothing specific for table tennis. Another option might be a table tennis training device, or robot, that can be used to practice table tennis alone.

Rising rapidly in popularity is a game called pickleball, which could use a pickleball paddle, pickleball balls, appropriate clothing, and optional eyewear, bags, and covers. While not required to play the game, some major athletic shoe manufacturers are also marketing pickleball shoes. Those who want to play at home might consider their own pickleball court, which would be less expensive than a tennis court.

The game of Padel was created in Mexico but has gained popularity in several other parts of the world. A Padel racket, Padel balls, a net, footwear for Padel, and comfortable clothing might be on a Padel player's shopping list. Protective eyewear and a Padel bag are optional items, and those who want to play at home might consider a Padel court.

These are some of the more popular racket and paddle games, but there are many others that would come with their own shopping list. The equipment needed for these would be similar to the ones listed above, with variations in racket design, ball type, and court dimensions.

This is a shopping category. Those interested in other aspects of racquet or paddle games should check out the category by the same name in our Sports & Recreation category.
