The capital of Wyoming, Cheyenne, is not only the largest city in the state, but it is also the county seat of Laramie County. It is nicknamed Magic City of the Plains due to its population boom in the 19th century when the Union Pacific Railroad was built. Once part of the Dakota Territory, it was the home to the fort known as Camp Cheyenne.
