Wyoming is known officially as the Equality State, but more often is known by its unofficial nickname, the Cowboy State. It is the least populated state, and its capital is its capital, Cheyenne. Admitted into the Union in 1890, it is the 44th state. People from Wyoming call themselves Wyomingites.
