Founded in 1901 when the railroad extended its rail service into Campbell County, Pollock, South Dakota is a town in Campbell County, South Dakota. The town was first named Herba, which was later changed in honor of R.Y. Pollock, a lay minister. The original town site was approximately one mile north of the current town which became Lake Oahe after a dam was built on the Missouri River.
