Vici is in the northwestern corner of Dewey County, Oklahoma. The town had its beginnings in 1899, when Albert Vincent established a post office two and a half miles southeast of the current townsite. Soon after, he moved his post office and store three-fourths of a mile south of present Vici, and more businesses followed. When the railroad came through, residents moved their buildings to be nearer to the railroad, establishing the current town.
