Maysville, Oklahoma is located in northern Garvin County, Oklahoma. The community began as a stagecoach station, established by the El Paso Stage Company in 1871, then known as Beef Creek, as it was built on a tributary of the Washita River that was known locally as Beef Creek. When the railroad came through about a mile north of the old Beef Creek community, the town moved to the new location in 1902.
