Situated in Garvin County, Lindsay, Oklahoma began when two railroads decided to link their lines halfway between Chickasha and Pauls Valley, at the area that is now Lindsay. An area farmer by the name of Lewis Lindsay donated 440 acres for the townsite in 1902, and the new town was named for him.
