Located in west-central Creek County, Depew, Oklahoma was originally part of the Creek Naton, in the Indian Territory. When the railroad came through in 1898, a settlement known as Hall developed near the future site of Depew, which was itself founded in 1901, and named for U.S. Senator Chauncy M. Depew.
