Wickliffe, Ohio is a city in Lake County. The city is surrounded by Euclid, Willowick, Willoughby, Willoughby Hills, Highland Heights, and Richmond Heights. The area that was to become Wickliffe was first known as Range 10, Township 9 of the Western Reserve. The town’s first residents were the William Jones and Abner C. Tarbell families, who came in 1817. For the first century, Wickliffe was a precinct in Willoughby Township. It incorporated as a village in 1916, becoming a city in 1951.
