West Carrollton, Ohio is in Montgomery County. The city was formed from the merger of two smaller towns. These were Carrollton, a town on the Miami Canal that was platted in 1830, and Alexanderville, which was north of Carrollton, also on the Miami Canal, platted in 1815. West Carrollton is south of Dayton.
