Situated along the Sandusky River, Upper Sandusky, Ohio is the seat of Wyandot County. Upper Sandusky was home to the Wyandotte Native Americans until 1842, becoming the Wyandot County seat in 1843. The community was named “upper” because it is located on the upper reaches of the Sandusky River, while Sandusky is at the mouth of the same river.
