Union City, in Darke County, Ohio, is incorporated as a village. The community was platted in 1838, and incorporated in 1853. Union City, Ohio is located adjacent to Union City, Indiana. The village was also once known as Union, and the town west of the state line was called the Indiana Side, while the town east of the State Line was known as the Ohio Side. The City of Union, in both Montgomery and Miami counties, is a separate community.
