Named for Aunt Betsy Trotwood, a character from the Charles Dickens novel, David Copperfield, the city of Trotwood, Ohio is in Montgomery County. Mrs. Iams, matriarch of the family that started the pet food empire and brand, was an early settler of the community and her house, built in 1830-1835, now serves as the headquarters of the city’s historical society.
