Formerly known as Tippecanoe, and then Tippecanoe City, Tipp City is in Miami County. Founded along the developing Miami and Erie Canal in 1840, the city was renamed in 1938 because another town in Ohio was named Tippecanoe. Tipp City is in the Miami Valley, along Interstate 75, near the Interstate 70 interchange.
