The city of Stow, Ohio is in Summit County, bordered to the south by Talmadge, Munroe Falls and Silver Lake, to the east by Kent and Franklin Township, to the north by Hudson, and on the west by Cuyahoga Falls. First settled in 1802 by William Walker, Stow Township was organized in 1808, and that township is part of the current city, which incorporated as a village in 1957, and as a city in 1960.
