Located in northeastern Ohio, Solon is a city in Cuyahoga County and a suburb of Cleveland. Part of the Connecticut Western Reserve, its first settlers arrived from Connecticut in 1820, naming the resulting township for Lorenzo Solon Bull, the son of Isaac Bull, one of the community’s first settlers. Solon was incorporated as a village in 1917, becoming a city in 1961.
