The incorporated village of Silver Lake, in Summit County, is an affluent suburb of Akron, Ohio. The village is surrounded by the cities of Stow and Cuyahoga Falls. Beginning in 1874, the area housed a large amusement park. The park was sold in 1917 and subdivided for residential housing, which led to its incorporation in 1918.
