Rocky River, Ohio is an affluent suburb of Cleveland. The Cuyahoga County city is named for the river that forms its eastern border. Settled sometime around 1810, the community was known as Granger City, Riverbank, Rockport and Rocky River Hamlet. It incorporated as a hamlet in 1893, a village in 1903, and a city in 1960.
