The village of Piketon, located in Ohio's Pike County, was settled along the Scioto River. It was originally named Jefferson and was the Pike County county seat from 1815 until 1845 when the county seat was moved to Waverly becaue of its proximity to the Ohio & Erie Canas. One of only three uranium enrichment plants in the United States is located there.
