The city of Pickerington is in both Fairfield and Franklin counties of central Ohio. Founded in 1815, the community was known as Jacksonville until 1827, when it was renamed Pickerington, in honor of its founder, Abraham Pickering. Originally a village, Pickerington became a city in 1991.
