The incorporated village of Paulding is the seat of Paulding County, Ohio. The planned community was founded in 1848, intended to be the county seat, as it is located in the center of the county. In 1851, the seat was moved from Charloe to Paulding. The village hosts the Paulding County Fair, held each summer, as well as the annual Flat Rock Creek Fall Festival.
