Founded in 1806 by James Heaton, Niles is a city in Trumbull County, whose early economy was focused on iron, steel and glass production. Niles is the birthplace of William McKinley, the 25th president of the United States, who was born there in 1843, attending Niles High School, which is now known as Niles McKinley High School.
