Situated along the Little Miami River in southwestern Ohio, Milford is in both Clermont and Hamilton counties. The area of Milford has been inhabited since prehistoric times, suggested by Native American artifacts found at the site. The areas known as Milford, Old Milford and Miami Township were built on a survey by John Nancarrow, a Revolutionary War veteran from Virginia who never visited the village. The community was first known as Hageman’s Mills, which was changed to Milford in 1815.
