Located in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, the city of Middleburg Heights was settled in the early 1800s by settlers, mostly from Connecticut, who moved onto land owned by the Wyandot Indian tribe, which once owned all of the land in northern Ohio. The community’s first settlers were Jared and Rachel Hickcox, who built a log cabin near Lake Abram. Middleburg Heights was incorporated as a village in 1928, and later as a city.
