Mayfield Heights is a city in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. Originally part of Mayfield Township, the city is a suburb of Cleveland, on that city’s east side. The community’s first settlers arrived in 1805, settling on the western bank of the Chagrin River. The community became a township in 1819, which was split up in 1920, when Gates Mills, Highland Heights, Mayfield, and Riverside were incorporated as villages. Mayfield Heights became a village in 1925.
