Settled in 1890, and incorporated as a village in 1901, Marble Cliff is a suburb of Columbus, and a small village between Grandview Heights and Upper Arlington. The community was initially incorporated as the Hamlet of Marble Cliff, and was renamed Arlington for a short time, which led to its neighbor to the north being incorporated as Upper Arlington in 1918, but the village later took on the shorter version of its original name, Marble Cliff, named for the Marble Cliff Quarry Company.
