The city of Macedonia is in Summit County, Ohio. Settled in the early 1800s, the community was first known as The Corners. A Free Will Baptist Church was established there in 1833, which was staffed by theology students from Western Reserve College in Hudson. These fill-in pastors began referring to their Sunday preaching visits as going to Macedonia, and eventually the new settlement took on that name.
