The City of Lebanon is the seat of Warren County, Ohio. The community’s first settler was Amy Elizabeth Carnahan, who settled on the north branch of Turtle Creek in 1796. The town was laid out in 1802 on land owned by Ichabod Corwin, Silas Hurin, Ephraim Hathaway and Samuel Manning, and named for the Biblical city of that name, as the Eastern Red Cedar trees there were thought to be similar to the Lebanon Cedar.
