Lakewood, Ohio is a city in Cuyahoga County, and a suburb of Cleveland. Lakewood is situated along the southern shore of Lake Erie, adjacent to Cleveland on the east, and Rocky River on the west. The community was named for its natural setting along the lake. Originally part of Rockport Township, Lakewood was incorporated as a village in 1903, and as a city in 1911.
