Lakeside is a private community and census-designated place on the shores of Lake Erie, in Danbury Township, Ottawa County, Ohio. The community was formed in 1873 by members of the Methodist Church, and continues to serve as a church-affiliated resort. The community is known for hosting one of the few continuously operating independent Chautauquas still in operation.
