Situated on the Scioto River in northwestern Ohio, Kenton is named for Simon Kenton, a frontiersman and early settler. Incorporated as a village in 1845, and as a city in 1886, Kenton is the seat of Hardin County. Kenton is roughly an equal distance from the larger communities of Findlay, Lima and Marion.
