Harrison, Ohio was settled largely by Revolutionary War veterans in the early 1800s. Othneil Looker, an early leading citizen of Harrison, became the fifth governor of Ohio in 1814. The community was incorporated as a village in 1850, and a city in 1981. Harrison is in Hamilton County, near the Kentucky border. The city was named for William Henry Harrison, the ninth president of the United States.
