Green Springs, Ohio is a village in Sandusky and Seneca counties. The history of the community goes back to 1831, when Jacob Stern, its founder, bought land from the government, which included the sulfur spring. Initially known as Sterntown, the village’s name was later changed to Green Springs, which was based on the color of the water from the spring.
