Geneva, Ohio is a city in Ashtabula County. The area was first settled in 1805. The following year, settlers from Harpersfield, New York arrived and established Harpersfield Township, which included the current townships of Geneva, Trumbull and Hartsgrove. In 1816, Harpersfield withdrew from the township and formed its own township, which was named Geneva Township. Geneva was incorporated as a village in 1866, and a city in 1958.
