The City of Garfield Heights is in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. The community was founded around 1786, when Moravian immigrants came to the area. Established as a village in 1904, the community was then known as South Newburgh. Renamed Garfield Heights in 1919, the village became a city in 1930.
