Galena is a small village in Delaware County, Ohio. Situated between Big and Little Walnut Creeks, the community was founded in the early 1800s, and platted by William Carpenter in 1816, at which time it was known as Zoar. The community's name was changed in 1834, when it applied for a post office, as another village already existed by that name. Galena was chosen as its name.
