Named for Daniel Sapp, a soldier in the War of 1812, Danville, Ohio is a village in Knox County. Danville is one of the oldest communities in the eastern part of Knox County. Although the exact date of its founding is unclear, the date has been placed as early as 1813 or as late as 1818.
