Convoy, Ohio is a village in Van Wert County. The community was established as a small hamlet at the edge of the Black Swamp in northwest Ohio in the 1860s, with its earliest land acquisitions in the late 1830s. The completion of the Pittsburgh, Fort Wayne and Chicago Railroad in 1855 opened the area to wider settlement, moving the population area from the old Indian Trail to a place nearer the railroad, and Convoy was formed, and incorporated in 1874.
