Cardington is a village in Morrow County, Ohio. The land was settled primarily by grants made to Revolutionary War veterans. Among its first residents was Isaac Bunker, a wagon maker from Vermont, who settled on a site along the Whetstone River in 1822, later constructing a brush dam across the river, for grist and saw mills, a wagon shop, smithy and foundry. The village was laid out in 1836, although several commercial and residential buildings already existed by that time.
