Cambridge is located in the Applachian Mountains of southeastern Ohio, in Guernsey County. Its history goes back to 1796, when Colonel Ebenezer Zane received funds to build a road from Ohio to Kentucky. He named the first settlement that resulted from the road for Cambridge, Massachusetts. Cambridge is the birthplace of John Glenn, U.S. Senator and astronaut, as well as William Boyd, who was also known as Hopalong Cassidy.
