Brunswick, Ohio is the largest city in Medina County. The community was first surveyed in 1796, at which time the area was explored by Abraham and John Freese. The township was drawn up and quarter sections of land were purchased from the year 1798, but settlers did not begin arriving until 1814, since the War of 1812, and the disturbances that preceded it, interrupted its settlement.
