Incorporated in 1940, Amberley is a village in Hamilton County, Ohio. Its first permanent settler is said to be Edmund Buxton, who began construction on a large home there in 1797. Although he died before completing the home, his wife finished the project by 1806. Today, the village is a planned community, near enough to Cincinnati to have a Cincinnati post office address, but with a rural feel. Homes are situated on a minimum of one acre, to prohibit overcrowding.
