Golva is a small city in Lone Tree Township, Golden Valley County, North Dakota. When Golva was founded in 1915, it was intended that it become the county seat, thus its name is derived from the first three letters of “Golden” and the first two letters of “Valley”. However, Beach was chosen as the county seat. Golva is located near the Montana border, south of I-94, and south of Beach.
