The city of Vineland, New Jersey was formed in 1952, from the merger of Landis Township and Vineland Borough. The now defunct borough had separated from Landis Township in 1880, so Vineland Township reforms the original boundaries of Landis Township under a city form of government, and with the name of Vineland. The city is bounded by Deerfield Township, Millville, and Maurice River Township, along with Salem County, Gloucester County, and Atlantic County. Vineland is the largest municipality in New Jersey, by total area, and is situated in Cumberland County.
