Pittsgrove Township was formed by Royal Charter in 1769, and incorporated as one of New Jersey’s original group of townships in 1798. Pittsgrove is in Salem County, bordering Upper Pittsgrove Township and Elmer Borough, as well as Cumberland and Gloucester counties. The unincorporated communities of Brotmanville, Centerton, Norma, and Olivet are located within the township.
