Established in 1848, Manalapan Township is in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Yorktown is an unincorporated community within the township. The Revolutionary War Battle of Monmouth was fought on land that is now part of Manalapan and Freehold townships, and Monmouth Battlefield State Park is on land within both townships.
