Greenwich Township, in Warren County, was first mentioned in official documents in 1738, and was incorporated by the New Jersey Legislature in 1798. The Greenwich Township in Cumberland County was first formed ad a precinct in 1748, and incorporated as one of New Jersey’s original townships in 1798.
