Located along the banks of the Delaware River, on the Hunterdon Plateau, Frenchtown is a borough in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. Established around 1757, the community was first known as Sunbeam, and then became part of Alexandria Township before splitting away to incorporate as a borough in 1867. The Uhlerstown-Frenchtown Bridge over the Delaware River connects Frenchtown to Uhlerstown, Pennsylvania.
